The Year 2007 was a
milestone for Laporte as we celebrated our 80th birthday.
It is evident
that our owner, Jean-Michel Laporte takes the quality and service of those
products that bear his name personally, as he is the third generation of his family to lead this
worldwide company forward. Laporte prides itself on supplying not only the most
durable and dependable automatic clay target launchers, but is also the
world leader in design and service in this field.
Customers
choose the Laporte range because the brand has been the choice of champions over
the decades and due to Laporte’s worldwide reputation, it has been chosen as the
supplier for Olympic Games year upon year.
The Clay Pigeon Company is the UK clay
manufacturing arm of Laporte. Since being purchased by Laporte in 2000 it has
gone from strength to strength. There are more than 30 members of staff
and all the clay targets produced on site, as well as those few imported, go
through stringent quality control measures.
The company’s philosophies
are:-
- Quality, quality, quality
- Caring for the environment
- Customer service
- Fair pricing
- Integrity and customer support
The Clay Pigeon Company
manufactures environmentally friendly clays as part of its long term commitment
to limit environmental impact. Most of the suppliers in the UK use a coal tar
based binder which is not as environmentally friendly, and although easier to
use in manufacture, the finished product can be unstable, particularly under
very warm weather conditions.
Laporte and The Clay Pigeon Company are the
biggest manufacturers of clays and traps under the “same umbrella” throughout
the world. In 2007, Laporte supplied a record number of traps and targets to
Europe and the rest of the world, with customers stating “Olympic quality at
affordable prices”.
The Laporte name stands for quality and dependability
- quite simply Number 1 throughout the world.
