• About Us
The Clay Pigeon Company is the UK clay manufacturing arm of Laporte. Since being purchased by Laporte in 2000 it has gone from strength to strength. There are more than 30 members of staff and all the clay targets produced on site, as well as those few imported, go through stringent quality control measures.
The company's philosophies are:• Quality, quality, quality
• Caring for the environment
• Customer service
• Fair pricing
• Integrity and customer support
It is evident that our owner, Jean-Michel Laporte takes the quality and service of those products that bear his name personally, as he is the third generation of his family to lead this worldwide company forward.
Laporte prides itself on supplying not only the most durable and dependable automatic clay target launchers, but is also the world leader in design and service in this field. Customers choose the Laporte range because the brand has been the choice of champions over the decades and due to Laporte's worldwide reputation, it has been chosen as the supplier for Olympic Games year upon year.
Laporte and The Clay Pigeon Company are the biggest manufacturers of clays and traps under the "same umbrella" throughout the world. In 2007, Laporte supplied a record number of traps and targets to Europe and the rest of the world, with customers stating "Olympic quality at affordable prices". • Our QualityAt the Clay Pigeon Company, we are aware that it is paramount our products remains of a consistently high standard and in order to achieve and maintain these high standards we have taken steps to ensure that the quality of our product is maintained and where possible, improved.
We employ a full-time Quality Control Manager who regularly tests our clays. In addition to checking the weights, measurements and density we also fire our targets through several different makes and models of traps.
All our stock is randomly checked throughout the 24 hour shifts. The Quality Control Manager records daily the results of all the batches tested. The daily production sheets are checked for any variance in factory conditions, which could adversely affect the quality of the clays, and these results are kept for a period of 12 months.
